Wanchese Seafood Park Visit the town of Wanchese and the North Carolina Seafood Industrial Park, the heart of Dare County's commercial fishing industry. Set up by the NC Department of Commerce, the Seafood Industrial Park houses seafood dealers who process the incoming catches of finfish and shellfish from the cold and warm waters of the Atlantic, and ship them to major markets up and down the east coast and to other countries. Wanchese is also home to a boat building industry. (Estimated travel time: 20 minutes) |
