North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. Recently expanded,the aquarium presents "Waters of the Outer Banks," including salt water and fresh water habitats. See largemouth and striped bass, river otters, sharks, sea turtles, and American alligators. A one-third scale replica of the USS Monitor is also on site. (Estimated travel time to the site - 20 minutes.)
