Elizabethan Gardens and Fort Raleigh. Elizabethan Gardens spans 10 ½ acres and includes a sunken garden, 16th century thatched gazebo, a rose garden, Shakespearean herb garden, woodland garden trails, and a collection of antique statuary. Fort Raleigh marks the settlements established in 1585 and 1587 by Sir Walter Raleigh's explorers and is the birthplace of Virginia Dare, the first child born of English parents in America. (Estimated travel time to site - 20 minutes.) -Approximate capacity, 28 people.
