Chimney Rock Park
Optional tour (for those not attending regular tours)
8:30 a.m. 'til mid afternoon.

Learn about nature and wildflowers from one of the specialists at the park and take a guided tour to see the 400 foot Hickory Nut Falls. See the lush scenery featured in the film "The Last of the Mohicans" Take some time to visit the Park and enjoy a box lunch. Return to the hotel and relax and change from hiking clothes for the evening activities.

Shopping tour
8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Visit the Famous Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. During late June the Blue Ridge Basket Makers' Guild provides you the opportunity to view the myriad forms of the basket. Its members will share their artistry and technical expertise in this special exhibition. View and purchase the finest in Southern Highland Crafts. After lunch visit Biltmore Village's unique speciality shops and enjoy the shopping experience.

History, Health, and Nature
8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Visit the Zebulon Vance birthplace. The two story structure and surrounding buildings are representative of the period from 1790 to 1840. Learn about the history and what living conditions were like two hundred years ago.

Next travel to downtown Asheville and at Pack Place participate in the Health Adventure Brain-teasers program. Test your knowledge and skills. Then, on to the Western North Carolina Nature Center for lunch and a visit to learn about native plants, wild animals, and visit their educational farm.
