The Canton Mill is a fully integrated pulp and paper facility manufacturing uncoated fine papers and bleached board ranging in basis weights from 35 lbs. to 310 lbs. The facility also offers folio sheeting and rewinding capabilities as well as new product trial time on one of Canton's four paper machines. First established in 1908, the Canton mill was the first mill in the world to make white pulp from chestnut wood, the first to produce high-quality white pulp from southern pine trees and first to manufacture bleached hardwood pulp by the sulfite process.
The mill currently uses a proprietary bleach filtrate recovery process and currently produces 500,000 tons per year of pulp and paper.
