Trout Farms Tour

We will be touring two trout farms in Transylvania County (Brevard area), Cantrell Creek Trout Farm and Bragg Trout Farm. Cantrell Creek Trout Farm is an averaged-sized trout farm in North Carolina, producing about 80,000 pounds per year. Bragg Trout Farm is the second-largest trout farm in the state, producing about 500,000 pounds per year.

North Carolina ranks second in the US in production of rainbow trout, producing about 5 million pounds each year. The farms are about a 1 hour bus ride from Asheville. Transylvania County is the largest trout-producing county in NC, producing about 2 million pounds per year.
