RAFT THE BEAUTIFUL
(and cool)
NANTAHALA RIVER

The West District welcomes you to our part of the state for the Annual Meeting of the North Carolina Association of County Agricultural Agents. We would like to invite you to come early and bring your family. As an "early bird" event we are offering a rafting trip on the beautiful Nantahala River. This river is an ideal river for kids young and old, offering a thrilling taste of whitewater fun in the beautiful Nantahala Forest. This river is designated a Natural and Scenic River by the state of North Carolina and as a Wild and Scenic River by the United State Department of the Interior.

Those interested should plan to leave the Holiday Inn SunSpree at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 26. The $30.00 fee pays for a half-day guide-assisted trip, top-quality equipment and transportation. For children, there is a minimum weight requirement of 60 pounds, which is strictly enforced. You may want to wear a bathing suit or casual clothes(something you don't mind getting a little wet). Athletic shoes or some kind of footwear for the water would be a good choice, also. You may want to bring a towel and change of clothes for the ride back to Asheville(showers and changing rooms are available on site). We will provide snacks and drinks. Lunch will be on your own and there are several choices at the Nantahala Outdoor Center(NOC). Those interested in this raft trip must pre-register, pay in advance and indicate the number in your party.

Minimum weight: 60 pounds(Strictly enforced)
