Slo-Pitch Softball Tournament

The first ever NC Ag Agents Slo-pitch Softball Tournament will be held on Wednesday, June 26, in Nashville, NC beginning at 6:00 PM. Directions to the field will be available at the registration desk for the state meeting. District Directors (or designee) will serve as coaches for the 7 district teams. Dr. Doug Sanders (or designee) will serve as coach for the specialists' team. The tournament will be a single elimination tournament (brackets will be available at the registration desk). Coaches must supply Walter Earle with a roster by June 15. Changes to the roster can be made up until game time.
Each team must supply their own equipment (i.e. bats, gloves, catcher masks). Tournament will supply balls.
General Rules
- Only currently employed agents and specialists are eligible to play
- Team must have minimum of seven players
- Ten (10) players can play in field
- Entire roster will bat
- Games will be limited to one hour or seven innings (which ever is shorter)
- Batter will have a 1-1 count when they come to the plate (1 ball, 1 strike)
- Umpires will call balls and strikes
- Each team will be limited to 5 runs per inning, except the last inning, runs in last inning will be unlimited
- If a male batter receives a walk (4 balls) and the next batter is female, the female batter has the option of a normal at bat or receiving an automatic walk
- There are no set requirements for the gender makeup of each team
- The tournament will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, the tournament will go to one pitch per batter. Each batter will get one pitch. The batter can hit the ball or if pitch is ruled a ball, batter will receive a walk. If pitch is called a strike, batter will be called out. Foul balls receive another pitch.
- Standard slow-pitch softball rules will apply
- All umpire decisions on the field will be final
- These rules may be amended at anytime prior to the start of the tournament
