Internal Communications Committee Committee Report

2005 - 2006


In 2005 the Internal Communications Committee was created by the board with two primary objectives:

Maintain district mailing lists for the membership.

In the past, this responsibility has been passed from district secretary to district secretary. Sometimes, important information such as the password for maintaining the mailing list has been lost. By creating a committee, the hope was that the people for maintaining these lists wouldn't change annually and there could be some more continuity year to year.

Maintain the NCACAA Web Site.

In the past, I have assumed this responsibility. Now, decisions regarding the layout and content to be put on the site are to be decided by this committee.

Due to changes in EIT policies regarding databases on their servers, we were given the choice to pay NCSU $250 per year to host our database, which is used primarily for the state meeting registrations, or to go to an outside hosting service. We chose to go to an outside hosting service - HostForWeb.com. In addition to moving our database, we also moved our web site off of the CES web server and onto our own domain - ncacaa.org. We also purchased the domain name ncacaa.com.

Now the district ICC chairs can use a graphical editor to easily maintain the district pages.
