The Early Career Development committee has arranged a trip to the national meeting in Cincinnati for young agents. Six agents will be attending. This will give them an opportunity to experience a national meeting before North Carolina hosts in 2008. Also, the committee made a presentation to the county operations team proposing a Rookie School. This school would be for all new agents regardless of responsibility and would allow time for more in-depth discussion and training in areas such as EMAPS, programming and ALS. The school would emphasize real-world examples given by agents and allow the new agents time to interact with each other. The presentation was well received and the information presented has been passed on to PODS.
