Membership dues should include the District, State and National
Associations of County Agricultural Agents. Participation at all levels.
Membership should be encouraged by each District Membership
Services
Chairman. All new agents should receive a personal contact by District
Membership Services Chairman inviting them to join NCACAA. County Directors
should notify the District Membership Chairman of new agents. Maintaining
a high percentage of membership is important since DSA's and voting
delegates
are determined by total membership.
County Extension Directors who do not carry agricultural
responsibilities
should be encouraged by the County Agents Association District Director
to join because of their supervisory responsibilities for agricultural
programs.
Dues should be sent by the District Treasurer to the state
treasurer
by January 1 of each year. Dues are past due to the National Treasurer
after March 15.
All new agents should be encouraged to join any time during the
year.
All agents should develop and maintain strong county Extension
programs while using the Extension logo to make the general public and
governmental officials more aware of the Extension's role and
accomplishments.
Evidence of sound, innovative, and effective county programs can be used
by the administration in an effort to obtain funds for salary and other
budget needs.
County agents should be encouraged to become members of the State
Employees Association.
We recommend the continuation of the sale of caps and shirts by
the Membership Services Committee.
While we realize that tight funding is the current situation,
we would like to suggest that Extension Administration continue efforts
to influence legislation on the state level which will be beneficial to
the Cooperative Extension Service, especially pertaining to salaries,
benefits
and funding.
