The objective of the Extension Programs Committee is to promote and
recognize excellence in program efforts of members and to design methods of
transferring such excellence in programming to other County Extension
Agents. The Extension Programs Committee is responsible for supporting and
conducting the following programs:
- Crop Production
- Livestock Production
- Farm and Ranch Financial Management
- Environmental Protection Through Responsible Use of Pesticides (rural and urban categories)
A total of eight entries were submitted for Extension Programs competition
in 2001. A team of three judges met at the Guilford County Extension
office to evaluate the entries. Winners and runners-up were:
Crop Production -
Winner: Matt Miller - Wilkes Co.
Runner-Up: Ken Bateman - Johnston Co.
Livestock Production -
Winner: Jeff Carpenter - Catawba Co.
Runner-Up: Matthew Miller - Wilkes Co.
Farm and Ranch Financial Management -
Winner: James Daughtry - Jones Co.

Winner: Craig Adkins - Caldwell Co.
Runner-Up: Billy Little - Wilson Co.
