Western District Committee Charges
2010 - 2011


Communications Work with the Extension Programs committee to encourage the sharing and publicizing outstanding programs. Encourage the use of a variety of information delivery techniques. Develop and maintain web site. Work with secretary and committee chairs to make as much information available from the web site as is appropriate.
Encourage participation and assist members in Communications Awards Program.
Extension Programs Form subcommittees for each of the major subject matter areas (Agronomy, Livestock, Forestry, Commercial Horticulture and Home Horticulture) and encourage them to meet at least once each year to discuss and share and plan programs both on the county level and a regional level. Collect an annual report from each sub-committee.
Encourage participation and assist members in "Search for Excellence" awards.
Association Policy Assemble, update and maintain district policies. Serve as directed by the state Association Policy committee.
Benevolence Review current policy and assist in it's implementation.
Constitution and By-laws Serve as directed by the state Constitution and By-laws committee.
Resource and Program Development

Professional Training

Professional Excellence
Come up with a way to disburse Western District Association funds to develop extension programs and for professional improvement of agents (approx. $500/year).
Develop and implement a New Agent Mentorship and Training Program.
Respond as directed by state PR committee.
4-H and Youth Maintain strong association with 4-H and youth activities and develop a plan to do so.
Public Relations
Recognition and Awards Develop and implement a Recognition and Awards Program for the district based on merit rather than tenure. Seek out quality applicants. Assist applicants with the application process.
Scholarship Encourage members' contributions to the NACAA Scholarship Fund and provide assistance and encouragement for applicants. Annually compile and make available to all members a list of available scholarships and loans for regular academic and in-service training. Give leadership to securing additional funds for the national scholarship trust.
Life Membership and Retired Agents Keep updated list and keep life members informed of all association activities. Encourage life member participation in association activities.
Nominating Solicit and recommend quality and interested nominees for any elected offices before the meeting in which elections will be held.
Promote and support candidates for state and national offices.
Membership Services To inform all new ag agents in the district about the association and promote membership within the association. To provide district members with association logos, hats, etc. as they are made available by the state association.
Plan Annual West District NCACAA Social Event.
Internal Communications Maintain the district mailing list and website.
