2007 State Meeting Report- Randy Wood and Sam Groce
2007 State Meeting: Registration down a little from expected. There have been some issues or misunderstandings on room reservations but have tried to work them out over the past month. There were several people that registered and did not pay. A thank you to the board to rearrange the agenda. An extra effort was put forth to reduce the cost of the meeting by preparing two meals and having off site.

Ray Harris indicated that his President's report would be on the web.

2007 Scholarship Committee Report
Ben Chase
NCACAA Scholarship Chair
-First I would like to see a show of hands of those who have ever received NACAA Scholarship funds.
NC Has sure had its share of scholarship winners. If you are chosen, you will reap far more than $40 you contributed.
So how do you get a NACAA Scholarship?
Applicant or all group members have contributed $40 to NCAA Scholarship Fund by June 30, the year before application. Send the $40 check to me by June 30. (check out to NACAA/Scholarship Foundation) Check with me to confirm your contribution status prior to submitting an application. If one person within the group has not contributed $40 by June 30th, it disqualifies the entire.
Fill out Applications completing including (go to NACAA Awards and Recognition Information on the NACAA Web Site and click on Scholarship Application Form)
1. Description in detail your plan for this training or activity (advanced degrees, graduate credits, tours, seminars, research or other specialized training)
2. Describe in detail the training/activity justifications and application of knowledge gained for/from this activity, and detailed itinerary.
3. Finances: Using a detailed budget describe how the funds will be spent
-Each participant must have contributed at least $40 to the NACAA Scholarship Fund by June 30, (2006).
-Study or training (1) must start within 14 months of the 2007 AM/PIC (July 15-19,2007) & cannot be initiated before application is approved by the Scholarship Selection Committee and the Trustees of the NACAA Educational Foundation (July 9, 2007).
-Application will be judged and funded based on completeness, plan for training, how it will be used/applied post training, and availability of funds.
-Maximum scholarship is $1000 per year, & a total of $2,000 during a member's Extension career. (This amount includes scholarships received as an individual or as part of a group.)
-Scholarship funds will not be awarded until 60 days prior to study or training begins.
-Report must be made to National Scholarship Chair within 30 days after the training is completed. That report must include a 75-word abstract of the approved educational activity and documentation that the expenses were spent according to the stated educational objectives of the application.
-Recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee with final approval of the Trustees, NACAA Education Foundation.
This year we had 3 individuals send in Scholarship Applications. All three of these were very good applications and I expect them to do well at the National level.
-You are encouraged to apply for a scholarship next year through NACAA; you need to have $40 in by June 30 of year prior to the year applying for a scholarship. So if you want to apply for next year, get your money to me ASAP (before JUNE 30) or check with me on contribution status. Then have your completed 7 copies of the Application with appropriate signatures to me by June 1.
I want to Thank John Dorner for all his hard work, he has and is doing a Great job on this huge data base, and I think we have gotten the discrepancies between NCACAA and NACAA Scholarship records corrected.
2. Another way to contribute to this Scholarship fund is by donating items towards Scholarship Auction at the National Meeting. So bring items for the Scholarship Auction!
