The 2007 NCACAA State Meeting will be held June 19 - 21 at Little River Resort, Carthage (Pinehurst area). There will be early bird golf ($45.00 greens fees which are good the entire stay at the meeting), skeet shooting and canoeing. The South Central District is operating off of the temporary budget that was approved at the October board meeting. They have had some changes in transportation line items - they will be using a local bus company as well as university fleet. The South Central District will cover the expenses for hospitality and softball as well as cook two of the meals to reduce expenses. It was suggested that in future years the district's look at options to reduce the cost of state meetings because of the difficulty of getting sponsors for the meeting.

Mark Tucker and Karen Neill attended the National Board Meeting in Michigan to give the report from North Carolina. Mark indicated that the national board was very positive of the report and the planning that had taken place thus far with all of the committee reports that were presented. North Carolina will host the NACAA National Board for their meeting at the Koury Center, Greensboro on December 13, 2007. The committee will continue to have monthly conference calls as well as face to face meetings in March at Extension Conference and at the NCACAA State meeting.
We received a check from the KY/OH association in the amount of $7500 for support of the 2008 meeting. This is in return for North Carolina's support to their meeting in 2006. The check was deposited into the 2008 account and at the end of the meeting if funds are available it will be put into the NCACAA account because the money originally came out of the association account for support of the KY meeting. Fundraising is currently going well. There is currently $170,000 in hand with promises of $290,000. BB&T will sponsor the 4-H Talent Revue. North Carolina has asked all states in the Southern Region to support states night in. All states have approved except AK but they are going to bring it back up to their board. We will have hospitality at the Michigan Meeting. Barry will check on the room for hospitality.
The West District is to host the 2008 state meeting and with the national meeting being held in NC there is much discussion of when to have the meeting. The West District voted to have the state meeting (awards and business session) just prior to the 2008 national meeting. Notification has to be sent out to the membership 30 days prior to the 2007 state meeting letting the membership of a change in bylaws so that this can be voted on at the meeting. MOTION made to suspend the bylaws for the 2008 state meeting to restrict having to hold the state meeting two weeks prior to the national meeting. Motion seconded. Call for question with no discussion. Motion passed.
JCEP - Ray and Gary attended the Southern Region conference. North Carolina is doing well in Cooperative Extension compared to many of the other states. Gary shared a resource "Internationalizing Extension for the 21st Century", that was presented at the JCEP meeting.

Other Business - Molly questioned the increase in dues by $7 per member. This needs to be approved by the state membership at the 2007 meeting. Present dues are $50 National, $23 State and $7 for district.
Lenny Rogers moved and Tony McGaha seconded that the North Carolina Association of County Agricultural Agents will have two members from our association attend the JCEP and PILD conferences. Motion passed.
President, Ray Harris, questioned who qualifies for membership in our state association. He said other states in the southern region have a large number of members because they include nearly everybody. Lenny Rogers read our policy that states: Membership in the NCACAA is available to any field faculty with agriculture and/or natural resources program responsibilities.
Meeting adjourned.
Next meeting: Tuesday, June 19 7:00 PM at the State Conference, Little River Golf Resort.
