Tour 33:
Racing on Tobacco Road
North Carolina is the heart of NASCAR racing and tobacco production. We will begin the tour with a visit to Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte where you will have a chance to see areas that are off limits on race day and take a van ride around the track.
Next, we will visit Hendrick Motorsports, home of the famous NASCAR teams of Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and the 2007 Nextel Cup Champion, Jimmie Johnson. After lunch, we will tour the Philip Morris cigarette manufacturing facility. Philip Morris is the largest cigarette manufacturer in the United States. We will complete the day with a tour of Wood’s Farm, a tobacco farm that has diversified into additional crops. Minimum age of 21 for industry tour.
